choi seung hyun aka TOP ( for alleged drug scandal june 2017 )

in todays blog im just gonna speak what is weighing on my mind and what's been going on lately in the social media. im not sure if you guys heard about my boo TOP aka choi seung hyun's case but well, here's the run down in my own words. but before i begin, just for the record, i aint no reporter nor do i claim  to know everything about this. its just from what i know, read and understand from the timelines as per social media (i get my info from twitter, instagram, as well as other fansites related to TOP or BigBang).

by the way, in case you dont know who TOP is, well he's part of a very successful kpop group called Big Bang and known for his rapping skills. hes not a dancer but he tries very hard by practising alot. he's also one of the top idols in south korea and you could say that he's a household name there. an extremely popular guy, kinda goofy in a "serious" kinda way. i dont know how to describe him exactly. he's got charisma, very cool attitude, loves his paintings/artworks from various artists or collectors, obsessed with unique furniture and has a great taste in good wine. trust me, he deserves every bit of it coz he's worked so hard to come this far. from a chubby teen/youth to this drop dead gorgeous looking guy. yeah, like you wouldn't believe ok. so yeah, thats basically about TOP that i'm sharing with you. if you wanna know more, just googleit. 

right so here goes nothing. all "hell broke loose" sometime last week when i first read that my boo was pulled in for questioning by the police for "using drugs". when i read "for using drugs" it sounded as though he's like a big junkie and often takes it! geez! i dont know what these people were thinking. perhaps they (police and/or government) were out to get him because he's an idol, adored by many or for whatever reasons they may have, i dont know. but whatever it is, they are making a BIG ISSUE over something so small and trivial!

anyway, back to my story. sometime late last week, TOP was brought in for questioning by the police. now, you must be wondering, how or what or why the police suddenly brought him in right? well, the story goes that there's this little girl, han seo hee  got arrested for using drugs (dont quote me on this, in fact dont quote me on all of this, as i mentioned earlier, its only coming from my point of view and from what i read online) and the po po asked her who else did she "Smoke" this shit with ( its WEED by the way), she dropped TOP's name. good god! who else was named by her, i have no idea. but im telling you now, if i ever saw her, i'd just bitch slap the girl. i'll show you what she posted on social media(which i think have been removed or not i dont know) and you can see for yourself what a mean creature she is, you decide.

not sure about ms han seo hee's background (heard that she comes from some rich family but SO WHAT? a spoilt brat is what she is!) but from what the media is saying, she's been to a couple of music companies and so far nothing has come out of it. i think she's a lost cause and i think because she's not getting signed up or cant debut, little girl got stressed and therefore turned to drugs to numb her "pain" or "failure" to "launch". well whatever!

so yeah thats how the ball started rolling and the spotlight was on my boo. they then brought him in for questioning(at that time he was still in national service) at the gangnam disctict police station or something like that. at first i think he panicked a bit when asked if he smoked marijuana and he denied but then later he admitted to smoking it. please note that its not been mentioned anywhere if his house was searched for weed or if any was found on him. i've not read this news so far or i could have missed it, i dont know but as for now nothing.

after questioning him, he went back and pen out an apologetic letter to everyone. to be honest, i dont know why he did that coz it wasnt necessary at all. worst to worst he could have just did a press con to kill all rumours and clear the air so that there's no speculation. people especially the media just love to add their own salt and pepper to make news more juicy and spicier!

frankly, to me its not a big deal and im sure his fans wont really mind too, although yes in some ways, for the younger generation, they may think that taking drugs is ok because their idol uses it too. but if one has a brain to think if doing that is right or wrong, then hey its entirely up to them and just like seung hyun made that decision to smoke weed, not knowing that he would get into trouble thanks to that ms han. again, this is such a small issue, its not like he was found with bagsful of weed or his home is a drug den! it was "supplied" or should i say shared between ms han and himself. anyway, below is the apology letter to everyone (in his handwriting) and the translated version (bottom).

moving along, he went in again if not mistaken earlier this week, probably on monday, 5 june to give his statement to the police. later that night or early next morning on 6th june, he  was found unconscious in his apartment and thats when the media went into yet another frenzy saying shit like he's overdosed on drugs. sigh! what morons! simply love to say shit when its not true at all. 

just so you know, lots of fans worldwide showed their love and support for him and nevermind them, even other fandoms too reached out to show support and words of encouragement yet many were just as pissed at the media and police for "causing havoc" ( in my words of course) in top's life. photo at the bottom shows him leaving the police station after giving them his statement on 5 june.

coming back to 6 june, Top was rushed to the hospital and in ICU. his vital tests showed elevated blood pressure, quick pulse and unstable breathing. there was also signs of hypoxia and high levels of carbon dioxide which i think translates to respiratory failure therefore in critical condition. further checks were done on his urine, they found that he had overdosed on sleeping pills.(just like him, i think i probably would be too, stressed out over this, given the situation). the doctors ran lots of tests on him and mostly came back negative except for benzodiazepine commonly used in sleeping pills , anti anxiety medication or anti depressants. doctors then agreed that once he's woken up and conscious, top will probably be receiving psychiatric treatment. you know what, i dont think seung hyun is a junkie neither has he lost his marbles. its just plain and simple, he was under alot of stress these past few months -

- his career is put on  hold for the next couple of years because he has to serve the NS (10 years with Big Bang)
- things were moving along fine when he went into the NS (in feb 2017) until ms han decided to rat him out
- and because of this, he feels ashamed for his silly actions and reckons he has let down his family, his band members and the fans.

so couple of days went by and i was praying hard each night for his recovery (even dreamt of him!). im sure his mom mrs choi and his entire family must have been worried sick. then day before yesterday, he regained his consciousness and so happened mama choi was there when he first opened his eyes and recognised her. as of yesterday 9 june, he was released from ehwa university hospital(apparently there was no private rooms there and the family wanted him to be in private room). therefore, since there was no private rooms available at ehwa university hospital, the family thought it best to go to another hospital(where there were private rooms) or to a private facility (which wasnt disclosed to give him and family some privacy) and made the arrangements. they got him transferred and from there he will receive the necessary treatment in order to make him feel better/well again. bottom pix was sent to me by one of my besties taken from a local malaysian newspaper today. 

at times like these, i wish the media would just stop hounding him and cook up stories about him. im guessing now they will start digging into his past, as well as who he has been with and also not forgetting his bandmates etc. sigh. this is like opening up another can of worms. 

im not sure if this is confirmed or not but on 7 june, the seoul central district court said that the first trial for TOP will be held at 11.30am on 29 june. meantime, police have also made a statement saying that TOP will be discharged from the army police division(where he was currently serving before all this mess happened) have been processed and after he's discharged from hospital,he will be going home.

ok so thats about it from me with regards to this. i just wanna end this blog by saying that we are all human. we make mistakes and we learn from it. yes agreed that top made a mistake and he's deeply apologetic about it but get over it and move on people! DONT make this such a big issue and blow it out of proportion when clearly it isnt (but just because he's a huge celebrity). come on, its only weed for goodness sake! the police, the media and the courts/government should just cut him some slack and issue him a warning or worst case scenario instead of sentencing him to prison ( which im praying will NOT happen) just let him do some community service. even in USA they do that to top artists or movie stars, so i dont see what the problem is. quite frankly, im sick and tired of all this gossip mongers, trolls and haters condemning him just for smoking shit a couple of times! geez! we ARE NOT saints ok. 

nuff said, peace out and for all you vips, pray for seung hyun and no matter what dont give up on him or bigbang for that matter. love one another and have a peaceful weekend.

globetrotting - paris and amsterdam (sight seeing)

let me start by apologizing for the super delay in my blog writing. i know it has certainly been a while but i do have a very good excuse for this delay as you will read below. but you know what, i think that may be getting just a bit tired not to mention lazy, of writing blogs and i dont know how long more im going to keep this up. we'll see how it goes. but in the meantime, its back to my story.



before i begin sharing my experiences in paris/amsterdam, i just wanna share with you guys my "excuse" as to why i haven't had a heart to write anything these past few months. you see, since january 2017 (up till today), it has been a bit of a bumpy ride for me and for my family. let's see - attended my hubby's cousin's wedding (and then there's my cousin's wedding coming up next week!), found out from a dental hygenist here in singapore, that i have some dental problems with my gums and teeth (here i thought by going for my yearly dental check up would be sufficient well looks like it aint enough!), then my mom got admitted to hospital for acute bronchitis for a few days, my paternal grandmother passed away and a automobile accident. yup, that about sums it up todate and in that order too. 

no i wasnt involved in the car accident. it happened to my brother and sister in law one weekend. well, thankfully none of them got hurt. apparently this idiot was kinda speeding (dont know how he could be stepping on the accelerator when there was a traffic jam on the highway!) and he obviously wasnt paying any attention to the road or cars in front of him otherwise he would have stopped (you know, i have a strong feeling he was either texting or reaching over for something, so the idiot says it was the latter). joker banged right into my brother's suv (which was stationary at that time as cars were not really moving due to the jam) and in turn my brother banged the car in front of him and in turn this caused a 3 car accident (my brother's car was sandwiched in between both cars). sigh so much inconvenience caused and as we speak, his car is still in the workshop. sigh

ya, so long story short, this first quarter of 2017 just hasnt been great for me at all, for the first time in a very very long time. i dont know when this funk will be over. hey, dont get me wrong, im not saying that attending weddings is a bad thing...in fact thats the only highlight i guess out of this 4 months. its about high time that this bad shit ends right here right now. to be honest, im sick and tired of all this crap that's been going on. wish somebody up there will cut me and my family some slack!

ok enough of self pity. let's get back to paris and amsterdam. i had pre booked our train tickets from london to paris, then paris to amsterdam and then amsterdam back to london (in that order). it was a one week trip for these 2 cities. if im not mistaken, you can only start booking online for train tickets 6-8 months ahead of time. but dont quote me on that, kindly google and check it out yourselves. just like budget airlines, the earlier you book, it can be slightly cheaper and depending on season and if there's any major holidays.

i booked our hotel around the st germain area and if im not mistaken, its at the latin quarter district. its very walkable to notredame, universite de paris, the pantheon. places we saw were of course, the few that i had just mentioned above, the louvre, le eiffel tower, a cruise along the river seine, shopping at galleries la fayette and we took a train to the factory outlet called la vallee village (shopping at the factory outlet here was abit more cheaper than back in singapore/kuala lumpur) . we were also blessed with great weather throughout our one week trip as it was hot and sunny with clear blue skies. 

oh again, a heads up for you guys and as mentioned in my previous blog about london and manchester. i booked most of my day tour packages from the website -  viator.com - and they are reputable and i do recommend it to you. no it aint a con job and im not working for them. i booked the "skip the line" packages which includes the river cruise, getting right up to the top of the eiffel tower and entrance to the louvre. when i say skip the line, it literally means we skip the line. we didnt have to line up in the normal queues which could go on and on especially during peak season. 

and now i shall be plonking in photos taken in paris randomly. oh ya please do your research/homework and chart out your routes before you go and have them printed out if possible or put it to your phone. i did heaps of research until i was seeing stars! for realz ya. hubby made me plan the entire trip and he just followed. he only told me what he wanted to do/see and i incorporated that into our schedule. a happy husband makes a happy wife (i get to shop and buy whatever i want!) , dont you think so?

honestly, these are damn good fries! and with that special in house dressing drizzled on top. wow! finger licking good! give it a try if you are there.

i think dutchies in general, like/enjoy nutella, the chocolate spread. i mean i do too hahahaha 

yaaaaa....when in holland, you gotta try their cheeses! unfortunately my parents and brother do not like/eat any dairy products more so when it comes to cheeses hahahahaha...only i can stomach it in my immediate family (my hubby and my sis in law are totally fine with dairy products) but having said that, i draw the line at blue cheese ok. oooh its as if somebody stepped on dog poo...gag

banned you know!! ugh...totally frustrating. they should legalize it.

as mentioned earlier, amsterdam has many "coffee shops" and we stopped by one to have a break. 

known as the FEBO vending machines where you can get fast food and its inexpensive. from burgers, sandwiches, kroket (otherwise known as croquettes), fries to some pastries.
